Food Allergies

Food allergies can cause many health complications and are a main contributor to inflammation within the body. Inflammation impairs the body's ability to function optimally and causes many symptoms amoungst the organs and body systems.

Food allergies are an Immune response to food that the body identifies as harmful. Individuals who are sensitive to certain foods trigger an Immune response.

What to expect in your consultation


Initial consultations: Initial consultations usually runs for 60 mins in duration and will include going through your health concerns, the role of food and nutrition in health and dietary advice.

If applicable, your pracitioner may refer you to have some testing to assists with your health, for example Food Allergy Testing.


Follow-up consultations: A follow up consultation usually runs for 60 mins in duration also and will include a follow on from your previous appointment.
 
At Newstead holistic medicine, we recognise the importance of both medical systems and often refer to western doctors as well as initiating communication with our patients GP's or specialists.


Health funds
Health fund rebates may apply - be sure to ask at time of booking - and most people receive $20- $30 back, depending on their health fund and cover.  After your consultation you will be given a receipt which you send to your health fund to receive your rebate.

Rebecca is qualified in Acupuncture,
Chinese Herbal Medicine and Tui Na (Traditional Chinese Massage).

Rebecca opened Newstead Holistic Medicine in 2002.  She has worked in hospitals in China as well as along side Medical Doctors, Nutrition medicine practitioners and other health professionals in Australia.

Rebecca has completed a Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she has specialised in Musculo-skeletal / sports injury and women’s health. Rebecca is registered with Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
